Acquired brain injury Care

Living with an acquired brain injury (ABI) can be challenging, but we are here to help.

ABIs can be caused by trauma to the head, such as an impact following an accident, or by an illness, such as meningitis or a stroke. The effects can be short- or long-term, and our individual care plans will adapt to your needs over time. If you experience complications with an ABI or have complex care needs, our Enable service can provide the support you require.

We understand that ABIs can have a significant emotional impact on you, your family, and loved ones. That’s why we provide both physical and emotional support. We want to help you live an independent and active life in the comfort of your own home.

All our support workers receive ABI training and specific client needs-led training, taught by internal and external trainers and/or healthcare professionals. They also complete the nationally recognized care certificate.

Some of the people we support with ABIs also have additional presentations such as epilepsy or other complex needs and behaviours that challenge. We understand the importance of a care plan and support worker who appreciates you as an individual, and that’s exactly the support that our Enable service is designed to provide.
